Report: Atletico Madrid want Luciano Vietto

A report claims that Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto is Atletico Madrid's leading transfer target this summer.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly prepared to let Mario Mandzukic leave this summer if they can land Luciano Vietto from Villarreal.

Vietto, 21, joined the Yellow Submarine from Racing last summer and netted 18 goals in 42 games during the 2014-15 season.

A number of clubs are said to be interested in signing the Argentine, but according to Marca, Atletico are the favourites to acquire the forward.

Vietto has previously played under Atletico boss Diego Simeone at Racing and it is that link that is believed to stand the capital team in good stead.

The youngster is said to have a release clause in the region of £18m.
