Sports Mole previews Tuesday's Copa Libertadores clash between Atletico Mineiro and Boca Juniors, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

The tie is hanging delicately in the balance after a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Argentina.

Atletico Mineiro, who won the Copa Libertadores for the first and only time in their history by beating Paraguayan side Olimpia in the 2013 final, have enjoyed a superb continental competition so far this time around, too.

The Brazilians were unbeaten along the way to gaining 16 points from a possible 18 during the group stages, with their record remaining in tact after an impressive draw in Buenos Aires last week.

Cuca's side have won five league games in a row, too, climbing up to second in the Brazilian Serie A table, only three points behind league leaders Palmeiras.

If they can navigate their way past Boca Juniors at home on Tuesday, which will be far from easy, the unthinkable double could well and truly be on the cards.

Boca Juniors have far more history both at home and abroad than their forthcoming opponents, winning the Copa Libertadores six times in their illustrious history, with four of those triumphs coming since the turn of the 21st century.

However, Atletico Mineiro have won South America's version of the Champions League more recently than the Buenos Aires-based giants, who last won the tournament when defeating Gremio in 2007.

Legendary playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme was in inspired form across both legs of the final that year, scoring three goals as the Argentine outfit cruised to a 5-0 aggregate victory.

How current Boca boss Miguel Angel Russo would dearly love a player of Riquelme's talent at his disposal, especially having lost former Manchester City man Carlos Tevez after the forward chose to depart the club in June.

With chances at a premium for both sides in the first leg, Azul y Oro will almost certainly need to be clinical with any which come their way on Tuesday if they are to make the quarter-finals once again.

Team News

Atletico Mineiro could be without Marrony, Keno and Rafael due to injury issues, although all three are expected to return towards the end of July and will be desperate to be involved.

One man who will definitely not be is left-back Guilherme Arana, who has travelled to Japan to compete for Brazil in the Olympic Games.

Boca Juniors, meanwhile, will travel to Brazil without former Atletico Madrid and Benfica winger Eduardo Salvio due to a serious ACL injury, which is likely to keep him out of action until at least October.

Agustin Almendra will also remain on the sidelines due to an ankle injury, although he is expected to return to action earlier than Salvio.

Atletico Mineiro possible starting lineup:
Everson; Mariano, Silva, Rever, Alonso; Tche Tche, Allan; Savarino, Fernandez, Vargas; Hulk

Boca Juniors possible starting lineup:
Rossi; Weigandt, Izquierdoz, Rojo, Sandez; Gonzalez, Rolon, Medina; Pavon, Briasco, Villa

We say: Atletico Mineiro 1-0 Boca Juniors

We can see Atletico Mineiro edging an extremely tight affair, although it would be little surprise to see this one go to extra time given the amount of games Boca Juniors have drawn of late.

However, the Brazilians head into this vital clash in considerably better form than their forthcoming opponents, and arguably have a little more quality in attacking areas to find the breakthrough at some stage of the proceedings.
