PSV Eindhoven snap up Simon Poulsen on free transfer

Dutch champions PSV complete the free signing of AZ full-back Simon Poulsen on a two-year contract.

PSV Eindhoven have agreed the signing of AZ full-back Simon Poulsen on a two-year contract.

The 30-year-old will join the Eredivisie champions on a free transfer when his deal with Alkmaar expires in the summer.

Poulsen rejoined AZ in February 2013 after an 18-month stint at Sampdoria in which he played only seven times in Serie A.

Across his two spells at the AFAS Stadion, the Denmark international has made 114 appearances for AZ and scored eight goals.

He could represent them for the final time when John van den Brom's side travel to SBV Excelsior in their last game of the Dutch season on Sunday.
