Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Rayo Vallecano

Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of their La Liga clash with Rayo Vallecano.

Barcelona will be bidding to start their 2022-23 La Liga campaign on a positive note when they welcome Rayo Vallecano to Camp Nou on Sunday night.

The Catalan giants finished second in La Liga last season but will be looking to return to the summit this term, with head coach Xavi handed funds to make a number of signings this summer.

Barcelona warmed up for this contest by thrashing Pumas 6-0 in the Joan Gamper Trophy match last weekend, and they will now be looking to make the perfect start to their league campaign.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of the team's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the fixture with Rayo, who finished 12th in Spain's top flight last season.

Ferran Torres

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: August 13 (vs. Rayo Vallecano)

Ferran Torres has been struggling with a foot injury since the start of last month, which has forced him to miss a number of pre-season matches, so he is a major doubt for the team's La Liga opener.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Barcelona have no suspension issues heading into this match, but they are yet to officially register new signings Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Jules Kounde.
