Barcelona have revealed that Clement Lenglet and Dani Alves have both tested positive for coronavirus.
The spread of the highly transmissible Omicron variant has wreaked havoc across the footballing calendar, although Spanish sides are currently enjoying their winter break.
Barca are scheduled to return to action against Mallorca this Sunday, but Lenglet and Alves will not be involved after contracting COVID-19.
"Clement Lenglet and Dani Alves have both tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be taking part in tomorrow's training session. The players are both feeling in good health and are self-isolated at home," a statement on Barcelona's website read.
Lenglet has only started four La Liga games for Xavi's side this season, and the centre-back is being linked with moves to both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in January.
Alves, meanwhile, has not been eligible to feature for Barca just yet, although he would have been free to make his second debut for the club this weekend.
The 38-year-old won a staggering 23 trophies during his first spell at Camp Nou, racking up 21 goals and 101 assists from 391 appearances between 2008 and 2016.
