Arsenal are reportedly preparing to rival Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of out-of-favour Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet.

Arsenal are reportedly ready to do battle with Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet.

The France international has fallen down the pecking order at Camp Nou and has only made 13 appearances in all competitions this season, leading to talk of a move elsewhere.

Lenglet's existing deal with Barca is not due to expire until the summer of 2026, and he supposedly wants to stay and fight for his place in Catalonia amid rumoured interest from Tottenham.

Now, Fichajes claims that Arsenal are now considering a move for the 26-year-old in the January transfer window, with his experience seen as crucial in the bid for a Champions League place.

The report adds that Lenglet would only be a rotation player at Arsenal, though, with Mikel Arteta calling upon the Frenchman if either Ben White or Gabriel are injured or deemed in need of a rest.

Lenglet has won one La Liga title and one Copa del Rey with Barcelona since arriving from Sevilla in 2018 but has only started four top-flight games this term.
