Andres Iniesta says that Gerardo Martino fits the bill at Barcelona.

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has described new boss Gerardo Martino as the "ideal coach" for the club.

The 50-year-old was named as the successor to Tito Vilanova following his decision to step down from the post due to health reasons.

Iniesta believes that Martino, who signed a two-year deal with the Catalan outfit, is the right choice for the job.

"Whatever the club decide is the best for Barca," Iniesta told Marca. "I think he will fit in with our model.

"If the club have decided on him, then he's the ideal coach for us. It's a good decision, I know him from the match in the World Cup in South Africa. He seems a good coach.

"The club wouldn't have gone for a coach who doesn't fit in as they have clear ideas about that they want. Every season we have to have high hopes of winning titles."

Martino guided Newell's Old Boys to the Argentinian title last season.
