Cristiano Ronaldo responds to Sepp Blatter

Cristiano Ronaldo responds to comments made by FIFA President Sepp Blatter about the Real Madrid forward.

Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has responded to comments made by FIFA President Sepp Blatter about the Portuguese attacker.

Blatter, speaking at a talk at Oxford Union, admitted that he 'preferred' Barcelona's Lionel Messi to Ronaldo, while also claiming that "one has more expenses for the hairdresser".

The comments have been described as disrespectful by various figures, but Ronaldo has issued a diplomatic response.

"This video shows clearly the respect and consideration that FIFA has for me, for my club and my country," Ronaldo said on his official Facebook page.

"Much is explained now. I wish Mr Blatter health and a long life, with the certainty that he will continue to witness, as he deserves, the successes of his favourite teams and players."

Both players have been listed on the 23-man shortlist for the 2013 Ballon d'Or.
