Barcelona are reportedly attempting to negotiate a deal for Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez which would see Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal both move in the opposite direction.
Martinez has been strongly linked with a switch to Camp Nou in recent weeks, but it has been reported that Inter would be unwilling to sell for under the 22-year-old's £173m release clause.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are determined to secure a deal for the Argentina international, and the Spanish club are prepared to offer both Rakitic and Vidal in part-exchange.
The two midfielders have recently been linked with moves to Inter as they struggle to earn starting roles in the early stages of the 2019-20 campaign.
Frenkie de Jong, Arthur and Sergio Busquets have emerged as Ernesto Valverde's preferred three in the middle of the park, leaving Rakitic and Vidal on the bench for much of the season thus far.
January could potentially be a busy month for the Catalan giants, with Brazilian duo Everton and Rodrigo Caio also allegedly being targeted.
