Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona's Javier Mascherano after new recruit Sami Khedira picked up an injury.
According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, manager Massimiliano Allegri is seeking more steel for his defensive midfield after Germany international Khedira sustained a thigh strain, which is expected to keep him out for up to two months.
Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal also departed the Turin club for pastures new last month, meaning that Allegri now has only Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio for his first-choice central midfield.
Mascherano, who started Barcelona's Champions League final victory against Juventus in June, is reportedly valued between €10m and €15m (£7m-£10.5m) by the Catalan club.
