Conference Premier roundup: Barnet hit five past Altrincham

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday afternoon's action in the Conference Premier as Barnet remain top of the table with a 5-0 triumph over Altrincham.

Barnet have remained at the top of the Conference Premier table after they recorded an emphatic 5-0 win over Altrincham.

John Akinde netted a hat-trick as the Bees scored five times in 49 minutes to remain ahead of Torquay United and Halifax Town in the standings.

Torquay edged to a 2-0 victory against Dover Athletic, despite a spirited display from the visitors, while Halifax thrashed AFC Telford United who saw their winless run extended to 11 games.

Woking drop down to fourth after suffering their second defeat in four days against Bristol Rovers, who move up to seventh position, with Gateshead remaining in a playoff spot after a 1-1 draw away at Welling United.

A first-half double from Luke Waterfall helped Macclesfield Town to a 3-0 success against Southport, while Eastleigh moved up to ninth place after edging out Braintree Town.

Despite losing their opening seven games, Alfreton Town have moved up to 18th position after they recorded a third win in a row with a 1-0 victory against Nuneaton Town.

Dartford have fallen closer to the relegation zone after a Lee Hughes goal condemned them to a 2-1 defeat against Forest Green Rovers, while Kidderminster Harriers lost ground on their promotion rivals after slumping to a 1-0 defeat at home to Grimsby Town.

The other fixture of the afternoon saw Aldershot Town beat Lincoln City thanks to a solitary Brett Williams goal.
