Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Omer Toprak has revealed that his side are looking to win the DFB-Pokal this season in order to get their hands on a trophy.
Toprak said that winning the Bundesliga or the Champions League would be very unlikely this season, but insists that Bayer do not want to come away empty-handed after their strong first half.
"Obviously, we're looking to win something this season and that's not going to be easy in the Bundesliga or the Champions League," he told Bundesliga.com.
"The quickest route to a title is the DFB-Pokal and we've a real chance there. We're in the last eight, with a home game against Kaiserslautern to come.
"It'll be a tough game, but we have to be satisfied with the draw. A win would take us into the last four and we've got a young squad, with a lot of hungry players who've never won a senior title. At the end of the day, we want to get our hands on a trophy, that's why we play football."
Bayer are currently second in the Bundesliga.
