Bayern Munich's David Alaba "doubtful" for Olympiacos clash

An ankle injury threatens to rule David Alaba out of Bayern Munich's upcoming Champions League fixture against Olympiacos.

Bayern Munich may have to make do without the services of David Alaba for Tuesday evening's Champions League group encounter against Olympiacos.

The versatile defender was forced to limp off in the closing stages of yesterday's 3-1 win away at Schalke 04 with an ankle complaint.

"David Alaba is rated doubtful for the last home match in the Champions League group stage against Olympiacos," read a statement on the club's official website.

"Whether Alaba can play against the Greek champions depends on the healing process in the next days."

Bayern go into the encounter with Olympiacos top of Group F on goal difference.
