Mehdi Benatia happy with life at Bayern Munich

Mehdi Benatia claims that he is "adapting quite well" to life at Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich defender Mehdi Benatia has claimed that he is "adapting quite well" in his first season at the club.

The Moroccan international has scored one goal in 16 games for the Bavarians following his summer move from Roma.

With Bayern ready to get their Champions League campaign back underway against Shakhtar Donetsk tonight, Benatia is happy with how his career is developing under Pep Guardiola.

"I'm doing my job," the 27-year-old is quoted as saying by UEFA's website. "I'm adapting quite well. It's certainly different from what I knew beforehand both in terms of my personal and professional life − everything is different.

"Here at Bayern you have to win every Saturday and you have to win every Champions League match, because that's the target. I know what I can do, I know what I can contribute to my team and that's all. I always try to do my best and at the end of the season we'll see what that brings."

Benatia has scored once in 31 appearances for the Moroccan national team.
