Marc Wilmots: 'Contract talks are on hold'

Belgium boss Marc Wilmots insists that talks to extend his contract with the nation can wait.

Belgium boss Marc Wilmots has insisted that contract talks can wait until progression for next summer's World Cup is ensured.

The 44-year-old's current deal expires next May, but it is believed that the Belgian Football Association are preparing a fresh contract for their manager.

"Contract talks are not in order now. I want to concentrate fully on the next two qualification matches. Go Belgium!" he tweeted.

Belgium currently top Group A with 22 points, having won seven of their eight qualification matches.
