Juan Carlos Garrido confident of Real Betis survival

Real Betis boss Juan Carlos Garrido talks up his side's chances of remaining in La Liga.

Real Betis boss Juan Carlos Garrido is confident that he can keep the club in La Liga this season.

The former Villarreal manager recently replaced Pepe Mel in charge of the Seville-based club, but suffered a 5-1 defeat to Real Sociedad in his first league match at the helm.

"The goal now is to keep Betis in the league and we have the team for that. The players have the capacity to be higher in the standings," he told reporters at a press conference.

"Before thinking of further signings, I must make the most of the players that I have. I we do, we will achieve our objective. Now we are sorting out the ideas, we have to develop habits in order to reach our best. When we have that organisation, then the talent of the players that we have will come out.

"I must make sure that this organisation exists every day at all levels. When that happens, we will begin to understand how to win games and we will be more convinced of achieving the objective within the conditions that exist."

Betis currently sit bottom of La Liga on 10 points.
