The 53-year-old steps down after leaving his role as a director of the Championship club's parent company Birmingham International Holdings Limited. He will be replaced by Cheung Shing.
Yeung is currently on trial in Hong Kong over allegations of money laundering, charges which he denies.
The controversial figure completed his takeover of Birmingham in 2009.
