Blackburn Rovers match called off

Blackburn Rovers' match against Brighton is postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Blackburn Rovers' Championship match against Brighton & Hove Albion at Ewood Park has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Wet weather has caused chaos to the football schedule around the country, with just six of the proposed 19 fixtures in League One and League Two able to go ahead this afternoon.

However, Blackburn's match is the only Championship fixture to fall foul to the weather, while nearby Accrington Stanley's match will be played as planned.

"Today's match against Brighton has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch. A new date will be arranged in due course," read a post on the club's official Twitter page.

Blackburn currently sit 16th in the Championship table, eight points off the playoffs.
