Blackburn Rovers have reportedly been rebuffed in their wish to discuss their managerial vacancy with Fulham coach Billy McKinlay.
The Championship club are believed to have made an approach to Fulham over the weekend in attempt to set up discussions with the Scot.
However, having considered the request, Premier League side Fulham have stated their intention to keep hold of the 43-year-old, according to numerous reports.
McKinlay spent five years as a player at Ewood Park up until 2000.
Blackburn have been without a manager since Steve Kean handed in his resignation late last month.
