Steve Kean calls on fans to be patient amid frustration at Ewood Park.

Steve Kean has pleaded with unsettled Blackburn fans to be patient in the early stages of the season.

The Rovers boss, who was recently given an 18-month ban for drink driving, has come under fire from fans after losing all three games in the campaign to date. Around 4,000 supporters are thought to have endorsed a letter to the club's board calling for his axe.

Responding today, Kean told Sky Sports News: "Bear with us. We have said judge us at the end of the transfer window because during the window we didn't get players in as quickly as we wanted.

"I think we have got a stronger squad than we had last year, and I'm sure most of the fans would agree."

Kean, who has been at Ewood Park since December 2010, added that he has "a great relationship" with owners, Venky's. "I can understand the fans' frustration that we don't have points on the board right now, but if you speak with the fans and the way we are playing, I don't think we could have done too much more.

"I think there are a minority of the fans that are frustrated and we are sharing that frustration that we haven't got points. But the way we are playing, with the squad that we have got, I think it's a stronger squad than we had last year."

Blackburn's next game is an away fixture to Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
