Paul Ince is currently in negotiations with Blackpool regarding the vacant manager's job at the club, according to Sky Sports News.
Blackpool have been searching extensively for a new manager following Michael Appleton's departure to Blackburn Rovers last month.
Steve Thompson is in temporary charge of the side, though the Tangerines are desperate to bring in a permanent manager as soon as possible.
Reports suggest that Ince has opened talks at Bloomfield Road and is the most likely candidate to take over.
The former Manchester United midfielder has been out of a job since leaving Notts County in 2011.
Should the 45-year-old land the role at the Championship club, it will see him link up with his son, Thomas Ince.
