Costa Rica international Jose Miguel Cubero has agreed to leave Herediano to move to Blackpool, subject to a work permit being granted.
The Championship side have struggled to sign players during the summer transfer window, but the club have received a boost after Cubero, who played four times during Costa Rica's run to the World Cup quarter-finals, opted to sign a contract at Bloomfield Road.
The 27-year-old told the club's official website: "It has always been a dream to play in England and grow as a footballer, so it's a great opportunity."
If a work permit can be obtained, Cubero will become coach Jose Riga's sixth signing of the summer.
