Preview: Bologna vs. Torino - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Wednesday's Serie A clash between Bologna and Torino, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Torino face Bologna at the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium having put together a three-match unbeaten streak in Serie A, helping the club move clear of the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, the home side have remained in contention for a top-half finish by recording three wins from their last five fixtures.

Having spent the campaign competing at the wrong end of the table, posting 10 points from five matches has come at the right time for Torino.

Still sitting just five points clear of the bottom three, Davide Nicola will need to ensure that his players do not get complacent after their terrific 3-1 success against Roma at the weekend.

Nevertheless, there is now a window of opportunity for Il Toro to make significant headway up the table ahead of the trip to Napoli next Monday.

Most notably for Torino, three of their last four victories have come without star man Andrea Belotti needing to get on the scoresheet.

However, Antonio Sanabria continues to be a revelation since his arrival from Real Betis, now having five goals and one assist to his name from just seven appearances.

Like the visitors, Bologna have benefitted from a recent resurgence, realistically ending any fears of relegation with nine points from five games.

While 1-0 defeats have come against Inter Milan and Roma, Sinisa Mihajlovic's side have scored 10 times in the other three fixtures, including four against Spezia at the weekend.

Swedish midfielder Mattias Svanberg has emerged as a key man in recent weeks, contributing three goals and an assist during his last five appearances.

Trailing ninth-placed Hellas Verona by just four points, I Rossoblu can afford to throw caution to the wind now that they have effectively guaranteed their top-flight status for another 12 months.

Team News

Barring any late fitness issues, Mihajlovic is unlikely to make any changes to his Bologna starting lineup.

The Serbian took the chance to rest players once his side were 4-1 up at the weekend, reducing the need to introduce fresh legs for this contest.

Nicolas Sansone and Andreas Skov Olsen are options in the final third if Mihajlovic wants to make alterations to his side.

On the back of defeating Roma, Torino could line up with the same 11 players for the second game in quick succession.

Youngster Wilfried Singo is an alternative on the right flank, while Simone Zaza and Tomas Rincon will feel that they deserve a recall after scoring as substitutes.

Bologna possible starting lineup:
Skorupski; Silvestri, Danilo, Soumaoro, Dijks; Schouten, Svanberg; Orsolini, Soriano, Barrow; Palacio

Torino possible starting lineup:
Milinkovic-Savic; Izzo, Nkoulou, Bremer; Vojvoda, Lukic, Mandragora, Verdi, Ansaldi; Belotti, Sanabria

We say: Bologna 2-1 Torino

Torino's players may feel that the pressure on their shoulders has eased after claiming seven points from three games.

However, that may not necessarily help their performance in this contest, leading us to predict a narrow triumph for the home team.
