Bolton boss Owen Coyle accepts not having the funds to buy players in the January transfer window.

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle believes that spending money in the January transfer window will not solve the side's problems in the Premier League.

The Scotsman, who recently appeared resigned to losing defender Gary Cahill in January, has stated that he will not prioritise growing his squad.

"I've not had money anywhere I have been before," Coyle told the Bolton News. "I came to the club two years ago, second-bottom of the league, and never spent a penny. We had to be inventive bringing in Stuart Holden, Jack Wilshere and Vladimir Weiss.

"If you don't have money, then there are ways and means of improving your team. If we do have the luxury of spending money, then great, but it's not something I'm beating myself up about.

"Whatever hand you are dealt you make the best of it. I'm at a fantastic club with great people and we all have to make sure we get ourselves out of the dangerous area we're in."

The Wanderers currently sit in the relegation zone of the Premier League table on nine points.
