Neven Subotic hails the achievement of Borussia Dortmund's young squad in reaching the Champions League quarter-finals.

Borussia Dortmund centre-back Neven Subotic has admitted that it is "amazing" to have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Dortmund beat Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0 on the night to advance to the quarter-finals for the first time since 1998, and Subotic said that the achievement is even better considering the youth of the squad.

"We're young and it's the first time we've got this far in the Champions League, so it's really amazing," UEFA.com quotes Subotic as saying.

"We showed the whole world that, even though we're young, we have the courage and quality to do it our way."

Despite their progression in the Champions League, reigning Bundesliga champions Dortmund are 17 points behind Bayern Munich.
