Neven Subotic sidelined for up to six months

Two torn anterior cruciate ligaments will keep Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic on the sidelines for around six months.

Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic has been ruled out for up to six months after tearing two anterior cruciate ligaments in his knee.

The 24-year-old was stretchered off shortly before half time in this afternoon's 2-1 defeat at Wolfsburg after landing awkwardly following a challenge from Ivica Olic.

"Sadly I did not get good news regarding my injury. 2 of my ACL's are torn. But no worries, I will be back stronger," he posted on his Facebook page.

The Serbian international has started 13 games in all competitions this season.
