Bournemouth are considering making a move for Coventry City's 32-year-old goalkeeper Simon Moore ahead of their return to the Premier League, according to a report.

Bournemouth have considered making a move for Coventry City goalkeeper Simon Moore ahead of their return to the Premier League, according to a report.

Number one keeper Mark Travers is currently being challenged by Will Dennis for a starting spot at the Vitality Stadium as things stand, following the end of Freddie Woodman's loan spell.

Woodman has since secured a permanent move to Preston North End from Newcastle United this summer, leaving Cherries boss Scott Parker searching for a backup shot stopper to provide the competition required for Travers.

Having come through the academy on the south coast, 22-year-old Dennis has made just one senior appearance for Bournemouth so far, so Parker has been on the look out for some additional experience in the goalkeeping department during the transfer window.

Coventry's Moore is said to have captured his attention according to the Daily Mail, having been recommended the 32-year-old by former Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who worked with Moore at Sheffield United.

Moore left the Blades to join the Sky Blues last summer, and quickly established himself as the number one at the Coventry Building Society Arena, during which he went on to keep nine clean sheets in 41 Championship appearances.

Ahead of their return to the Premier League, Bournemouth have only signed Joe Rothwell and Ryan Fredericks on free transfers during the transfer window so far.
