Bradford City leave it late in Crewe Alexandra win

Bradford City beat Crewe Alexandra 2-0 thanks to late goals from Aaron McLean and Gary Liddle.

Bottom side Crewe Alexandra conceded twice in the last 20 minutes to hand Bradford City the points at Valley Parade this afternoon.

The home side dominated the first half, with Jason Kennedy wasting a good opportunity to take the lead early on when he headed a Mark Yeates cross over Ben Garrett's goal.

Anthony Grant's cleared Aaron McLean's effort off the line as Crewe hung on to keep the tie goalless at the break.

Chris Atkinson went close for the visitors following a swift Crewe counter-attack, but his effort was kept out by Jordan Pickford five minutes after the restart.

However, Bradford continued to control the game and got their rewards when McLean headed home on 72 minutes.

Two minutes later the home side wrapped up the win when Gary Liddle stroked home Felipe Morais's cut-back from 15 yards.
