"Since I have been back, in the three footballing months, I have been nominated twice and won one now which isn't bad going," said Hogan.

"It is a team thing and if someone is getting rewarded for something then it is because the team are doing the right thing. Personal achievements are team achievements.

"If someone wins the Player of the Month then it is because the team have helped them and it is a team effort really."

Brentford manager Dean Smith added: "I am delighted that Scott has won this award. He has fully deserved it on his performances this month. To score six goals in a month is a fantastic achievement and I am really pleased for Scott."

The Bees currently sit seventh in the league table, two points off the playoff spots.
