Ryan Woods signs new Brentford contract

Brentford announce that midfielder Ryan Woods has signed a new four-year deal to remain at Griffin Park.

Young Brentford midfielder Ryan Woods has signed a new deal keeping him at Griffin Park until the end of the 2019-20 season.

The 22-year-old joined the Bees last summer and was an ever-present thereafter, contributing two goals from the middle of the park as the club finished ninth in the Championship.

Brentford head coach Dean Smith told the club's website: "I am pleased that Ryan has committed himself to the long term future of Brentford FC.

"He has been a consistent performer in the first team with scope for further improvement. He is fast becoming a fans favourite with his energetic performances, he is a very important part of the plans moving forward."

Woods moved to Brentford after six years with Shrewsbury Town.
