Brighton and Watford play out a goalless first half as former teammates Gus Poyet and Gianfranco Zola meet again at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Watford are still looking for the opener after a goalless first half in their Championship clash this afternoon.

The visitors enjoyed the first chance of the match as Daniel Pudil was left unmarked in the box from a corner, but his effort went well over the bar.

Brighton responded with a chance of their own two minutes later as Kazenga LuaLua broke down the left before sending a cross towards Andrew Crofts, who couldn't keep his shot down either.

LuaLua was involved again nine minutes later, sending in a rasping drive that Manuel Almunia had to be on hand to parry away.

Thomas Kuszczak was called upon at the other end in the 25th minute, getting down well to deny Jonathan Hogg's low drive from just inside the box.

Kuszczak came to his side's rescue once again in stoppage time of the first half, pulling off a fine low save from Matej Vydra's effort.
