Half-Time Report: Andre Gray puts Brentford ahead at the break

Brentford lead Brighton & Hove Albion against the run of play.

Brentford striker Andre Gray's fortuitous goal has given Mark Warburton's side a 1-0 half-time lead over Brighton & Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium.

Craig Mackail-Smith sent Inigo Zapateria Calderon through on goal with a defence-splitting pass on 10 minutes, but David Button in the Brentford goal got down well to deny the Spanish defender.

Button was then at full stretch to deny Solly March whose first-time, left-foot strike had seemed destined for the top corner.

Brentford took the lead against the run of play on the half-hour mark when Gray's miskick looped over David Stockdale and into the back of the net.
