Following his side's third successive game without finding the net, Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet admits that he needs to sign another forward soon.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet has admitted that he needs to sign another forward before the end of the transfer window.

The Seagulls, who drew 0-0 at home to Cardiff City last night, have yet to score a goal in over 270 minutes of competitive football this season.

"We need a striker but we are not close enough to getting that striker," said Poyet. "Quality is expensive and to be at the top you need to spend.

"People say that there is a financial crisis in the world but there isn't one in football and money is spent when it is needed to be.

"We would consider bringing in a striker on loan from a Premier League club. I am relaxed but worried we are losing time. I accept where we are and I accept the budget we have got."

Next up for Brighton is a home game against Barnsley on Saturday.
