Brighton & Hove Albion recall Craig Mackail-Smith from Peterborough United

Brighton & Hove Albion opt to recall Craig Mackail-Smith from his loan at Peterborough United so that he can feature on Boxing Day against Reading.

Championship strugglers Brighton & Hove Albion have recalled striker Craig Mackail-Smith from his loan at former club Peterborough United.

The 30-year-old returned to Posh at the end of last month and was due to remain with them until December 28.

However, Brighton caretaker boss Nathan Jones, following the resignation of Sami Hyypia, has decided to bring Mackail-Smith back early so that he can feature in the Boxing Day fixture against Reading.

Mackail-Smith made three appearances for Peterborough, failing to score. He has three goals to his name in all competitions in 15 Brighton appearances this season.
