Burnley chief executive Lee Hoos rules out a return to the club for former manager Owen Coyle.

Burnley chief executive Lee Hoos has insisted that it would not be right for the club if former manager Owen Coyle returned to Turf Moor.

Eddie Howe returned to Bournemouth on Friday to leave Burnley without a manager, but Hoos has been quick to dismiss speculation that Coyle could be appointed for his second spell in charge after he was sacked by Bolton Wanderers.

Hoos told BBC Radio Lancashire: "I just couldn't see how that one could happen.

"Obviously I wasn't there when the whole Owen Coyle saga happened, but I got enough feedback to know there was a very bitter aftertaste and I just couldn't see a way back for that one.

"It has to be the right person - the right man for the right job at the right time."

Burnley are currently in 16th place in the Championship table.
