Kieran Trippier has admitted that Burnley missed their opportunity to stay in the Premier League after relegation was confirmed on Saturday.
Despite beatingHull City 1-0 at the KC Stadium, results elsewhere ensured that Sean Dyche's side will be playing Championship football next season, and Trippier believes that the Clarets have allowed too many points to slip away.
"We have given everything from the start to the finish but, if you look back to the games against Crystal Palace at home and West Brom at home, we were 2-0 up in both of those games and we lost one and drew the other," the defender told reporters.
"Those are some of the missed points there and we've missed a few penalties at 0-0, so we've dropped a few points, and we haven't always taken our chances, whereas other teams have.
"It's obviously disappointing but we've got two games left now and we're going to make sure we try and get some points."
Burnley host Stoke City next weekend before finishing the season with a trip to Aston Villa.
