Jelle Vossen looked Burnley's liveliest player to begin with but he was let off after a poor back-pass to Tom Heaton was nearly intercepted by James Hanson.

Both teams shared possession but neither looked like scoring again before half time.
Stephen Darby made his return from a long injury spell for City and received a standing ovation when he was substituted a few minutes into the second half.
George Boyd was impressive for Burnley in the second half as the attacker saw a number of shots come close to going past Jussi Jaaskelainen.
Matt Taylor then came on as a substitute for the injured Fred Ulvestad and almost immediately fired a free kick into the back of the net to increase the Lancashire side's lead.
Burnley's first game back in the Championship will be against local rivals Leeds United on August 8.
