Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink up for April League Two Manager of the Month award

Burton Albion boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is among the contenders for April's Manager of the Month award in League Two.

Burton Albion boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink leads the nominees for April's Manager of the Month award in League Two.

The Dutchman guided Albion to promotion in style as they won four and drew two of their six matches.

Shrewsbury Town's Micky Mellon is also on the shortlist after his side also earned promotion with five victories from six games. The Shrews conceded just one goal in that time.

Southend United manager Phil Brown takes his place among the contenders following a stellar month for the high-flying Blues, which saw them take maximum points from seven matches.

Completing the quartet of potential winners is Stevenage's Graham Westley, whose team claimed four wins and two draws to keep their promotion hopes on track.

The winner of the award is due to be announced on Friday.
