Cardiff City captain Mark Hudson is likely to miss the rest of the club's push for the Championship title, according to manager Malky Mackay.
Hudson requires surgery on an ankle ligament injury picked up in the draw with Leicester earlier in the month and as such is unlikely to feature again.
"I will never say no to anything, but Mark will probably not play again this season," Sky Sports News quotes Mackay as saying.
"It's a blow for the player, he's been a top performer for us and, as our captain, Mark is one of our leaders.
"However, he's still here, in the dressing room to help out, even though he won't be playing."
Cardiff travel to Peterborough United on Saturday.
