Malky Mackay 'stunned' by events, will fight text message allegations

Former Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay is reportedly 'shocked and stunned' by allegations of racist text messages, and plans to fight against the claims.

Malky Mackay's agent has reportedly claimed that the former Cardiff City manager will fight his case against allegations that he and Iain Moody sent racist text messages to one another.

The Scotsman was close to being appointed as Tony Pulis's successor at Crystal Palace, but the move fell through once the allegations came to light.

The Football Association are investigating after they received a dossier of the alleged misconduct, reportedly from Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan, who sacked Mackay back in December.

The Daily Mail has reported that Mackay and his former right-hand man Moody sent numerous texts to one another of a racist, sexist and homophobic nature during their time at the Welsh club.

While Mackay is yet to make a public statement, the coach's agent has told Sky Sports News that the Scotsman is 'shocked and stunned' by the events of the last 24 hours and will fight the allegations against him.

Moody resigned from his position as sporting director at Palace today as the FA investigation continues.
