Half-Time Report: Celtic level with Ross County at the interval

Celtic are level with Ross County after falling behind to Melvin de Leeuw's opener.

Celtic are level with Ross County at half time in their Scottish Premiership encounter, but have been given a scare by the Staggies in the opening period.

The Hoops fell behind on 16 minutes when Graham Carey picked up possession in an advanced area, before finding Melvin de Leeuw, whose shot was too good for Fraser Forster.

Moments earlier, Stefan Johansen had a great opportunity to put Neil Lennon's side in front, but his left-footed effort drifted wide of the Staggies post.

Celtic didn't seem to be fazed by conceding an early goal and came close to levelling when Anthony Stokes's shot was well held by Mark Brown.

De Leeuw was looking to build on his opening goal when, midway through the opening period, his acrobatic attempt went just over Forster's crossbar.

The side from Dingwall continued their enterprising start to the game moments later when Carey's effort from the edge of the Celtic box was only just over the bar.

However, Celtic regained their composure to level the game when Leigh Griffiths tried his luck from distance. When Brown spilled the ball, Kris Commons was on hand to tuck home the rebound.

The Hoops tried to forge a half-time lead, but Stokes and Commons were frustrated in their efforts.
