Preview: Celtic vs. St Johnstone

Sports Mole previews St Johnstone's trip to champions Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic can tighten their grip at the top of the Scottish Premiership table on Wednesday when they play their game in hand at home to St Johnstone.

The defending champions moved six points clear of rivals Aberdeen on Sunday with a comfortable 4-0 victory over the Dons at Celtic Park.

Should they beat the Saints in midweek, many will see Ronny Deila's side as already having one hand on the trophy.

Despite being knocked out of the Europa League by Inter Milan last week, Celtic's league form has been impressive thanks to a run of eight consecutive wins.

Meanwhile, St Johnstone make the trip to Glasgow knowing that a victory could push them into the top half of the standings.

Tommy Wright's team have struggled for form in recent weeks, winning just one of their previous six matches in the league. Their last outing saw them held to a goalless draw at home to Kilmarnock on Saturday.

Celtic have won both of their matches against St Johnstone this season, including a 3-0 victory on the opening weekend of the campaign.

Leigh Griffiths is likely to keep his spot in the Celtic lineup after finding the net against Aberdeen, while the likes of John Guidetti and James Forrest could also start. The visitors have no new injury concerns.
