Celtic pay for profligacy with draw

Celtic fail to take a number of chances as they draw 0-0 against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic missed a host of chances as they were held to a goalless draw against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park this afternoon.

After a quiet opening 10 minutes, it was Kilmarnock central defender Conrad Balatoni who had the game's first chance but his header went wide of the right post.

Leigh Griffiths's shot was stopped by Jamie MacDonald four minutes later before Northern Ireland international Josh Magennis missed the target at the other end.

The striker had another shot saved by MacDonald as a quiet first half came to a close.

Celtic continued to struggle to make any headway, with shots flying off target throughout the second half.

It was Griffiths who looked the most likely to score but he could not trouble MacDonald.

James Forrest twice missed from long range and shots from Tomas Rogic and Gary Mackay-Steven were blocked.

Killie had a flurry of chances in the closing stages but shots from Greg Kiltie, Magennis and Tope Obadeyi were saved by Craig Gordon.
