Celtic have made an approach for Club Brugge defender Brandon Mechele, according to reports.
The 22-year-old has played in every minute of his club's Europa League campaign and features in the Club Brugge starting lineup for their match against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk tonight.
The Scotsman claims that manager Ronny Deila is preparing to lose two key central defenders in the summer, with Virgil van Dijk receiving interest from English clubs and Jason Denayer set to return to parent club Manchester City, and has made Mechele his main transfer target.
It is believed that Celtic would need to pay Club Brugge a fee of £3m to capture Mechele, who has become the first-choice central defender for the Belgian league leaders.
