Groningen youngster William Troost-Ekong to sign for Celtic?

Celtic are interested in signing Groningen's 21-year-old defender William Troost-Ekong, according to reports.

Celtic are considering making an offer for Groningen central defender William Troost-Ekong, according to reports.

The 21-year-old is thought to be a candidate to replace Virgil van Dijk, who looks set to move to the Premier League this summer, according to the Daily Record.

Troost-Ekong played for Fulham and Tottenham during his youth career, before moving to Groningen in 2013. He has spent the last two seasons on loan at Dordrecht.

Celtic previously signed Van Dijk from Groningen for a fee of £2.4m
