Chelsea to face Benfica in quarter-finals

Chelsea will battle it out with Benfica in the Champions League to reach the semi-finals of the elite competition.

Chelsea will go head to head with Benfica in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and could face reigning champions Barcelona in the semi-finals.

The former English champions have managed to avoid Spanish giants Real Madrid, who will take on Cypriot underdogs Apoel, as well as German outfit Bayern Munich, who have been drawn to face Marseille.

The Blues will travel to Portugal for the first leg, which is due to take place either on March 27 or 28 and will welcome Benfica to Stamford Bridge for the return fixture on April 3 or 4.

Current Champions League holders Barca will have to overcome AC Milan in order to continue the defence of their trophy, but there is a chance that the club's La Liga rivals Real Madrid could line up against them in the final in Germany.
