David Luiz "very happy" with performance

David Luiz says that he is pleased with his first Champions League appearance for Chelsea.

David Luiz has revealed his delight at his first Champions League goal in last night's 2-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen.

Making his first appearance for the club this season following injury, the 24-year-old gave the Blues their first goal of the tie in the 67th minute before Juan Mata went on to solidify the win in injury time.

"It was good. It is a long time I didn't play and this game I played 75 minutes and it is good for me, and it is important inside my body that I came back for the game. My leg is good, it is normal," the defender told the club's official website.

"It was a nice goal. In training we shoot with the strikers.

"Now I have three goals at Stamford Bridge and I am very happy. I love the atmosphere here, the support, and all the time the players are together and this is of big importance."

Chelsea travel to face Manchester United on Sunday, searching for three points to potentially lift them to the top of the table.
