Liverpool injury, suspension list and return dates for Chelsea: Alisson, Chiesa latest

Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Chelsea.

Premier League football returns to Anfield on Sunday afternoon, when table-toppers Liverpool welcome Chelsea to their Merseyside headquarters for this weekend's headline encounter.

The Reds went into the international break one point clear of Manchester City and Arsenal at the summit of the standings, having amassed a terrific 18 points from the first 21 available under Arne Slot.

Liverpool's final game before the two-week hiatus saw them maintain their perfect away record for the 2024-25 campaign, as Diogo Jota's goal was the difference in a 1-0 triumph over Crystal Palace.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Chelsea, who lie fourth in the rankings and can move level on points with Sunday's hosts should they prevail here.

Alisson Becker

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: November 24 (vs. Southampton)

A major blot on the notebook from the Palace victory was Alisson Becker - becoming increasingly plagued by injuries over the past couple of years - suffering a serious hamstring problem, one that is expected to keep him sidelined until the latter part of November.

Federico Chiesa

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: October 20 (vs. Chelsea)

Federico Chiesa picked up an unspecified injury before the 2-0 Champions League win versus Bologna and was not called up to the Italy squad for October's fixtures either, leaving his participation for the weekend in some doubt.

Harvey Elliott

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: October 27 (vs. Arsenal)

Harvey Elliott is now running outdoors again as he steps up his recovery from September's foot fracture, and even though he will not be fit for Sunday, a comeback before the end of the month has not been ruled out.
