Andre Villas-Boas is thought to have resigned from his position at Porto, according to Sky Sports News.
It was reported yesterday that Villas-Boas, who was a protege of Jose Mourinho during his managerial stint at Chelsea, would be heading to Stamford Bridge.
Neither Porto nor Chelsea confirmed or denied the speculation, although Porto defender Alvaro Pereira appeared to support the claims yesterday on his Facebook page.
“Andre Villas-Boas is going to Chelsea. Abramovich has taken our coach from the [Estadio] do Dragao.
“We have to thank the coach for all the work and the trophies conquered with us this season. We have lost our coach but we will remain strong. WE ARE PORTO!”
It has been suggested that Villas-Boas may work alongside Guus Hiddink, the previous frontrunner to be Carlo Ancelotti’s successor, as manager and sporting director.
