Rafael Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon dismisses reports of an approach from Chelsea but refuses to rule out the possibility of the Spaniard replacing Andre Villas-Boas.

Rafael Benitez's agent has denied reports that the former Liverpool manager has been approached about succeeding Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas.

It emerged this week that the ex-Inter Milan boss has been a potential candidate to replace Villas-Boas, who is under increasing pressure following a number of disappointing results.

"There is nothing official," Benitez's agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon said. "It's only media speculation and we have not been approached by Chelsea.

"We would only evaluate that possibility once there is an offer."

Quilon reiterated that the Spaniard is only interested in returning to management in the Premier League.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been known to dismiss coaches after short stints at the club, with Villas-Boas being the sixth manager of the former Premier League champions in eight years.
